Dr. Lu Zhang is an Assistant Professor in the Moss Department of Construction Management at Florida International University. She earned her Ph.D. in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Construction Management from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2016. She holds a Master of Engineering degree in Construction Management from the University of Michigan, and a Bachelor of Management degree in Construction Management from Tongji University, China.

Dr. Lu Zhang’s research interests include sustainable building and infrastructure systems, disaster resilient built environments, human-building interactions, human-centered value analysis, building and civil information modeling, semantic information modeling, and smart building and infrastructure monitoring and analysis. Her research in these areas is supported by research grants from  different agencies, including National Science Foundation, Florida Department of Transportation, U.S. Department of Transportation, Engineering Information Foundation, and Natural Hazards Center.

Dr. Lu Zhang teaches both undergraduate and graduate level courses in the department, including BCN 4703 Management of Construction Projects, BCN 3727 Construction Sitework and Equipment, BCN 3720 Construction Scheduling I, and BCN 5784 Construction Information Systems.
